The NRCS is an agency within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). In partnership with local Conservation Districts, NRCS works to promote and support conservation efforts on private lands.

NRCS offers free technical assistance to landowners, including preparation of a Conservation Plan.  NRCS also has financial assistance available to help landowners implement their Conservation Plans.  Contact District Conservationist Ryan Wysocki for more information and to apply.

Financial assistance is available for the following practices:
  • Forest Management Plan preparation
  • Tree Planting for Wildlife Habitat
  • Cool and Warm Season Grass Planting
  • Brush Management (invasive species removal)
  • Seasonal High Tunnel (Hoop House)
  • Hay and Pasture Planting
  • Prescribed Grazing
  • Livestock Watering System
  • And Many More!

Working with NRCS is always a voluntary decision on the part of a landowner.  See Fact Sheets below for more information on financial assistance programs.
