SEPTIC SYSTEMS

Michigan is the only state in the nation that doesn't have a statewide septic code, so it's up to all of us to spread the word about maintaining septic systems and protecting water quality. 
Please see below for links and resources on septic system maintenance.

In Otsego County, septic systems are regulated by the Health Department of Northwest Michigan.  They are a great resource for all your well or septic system questions.
