Invasives Removal Workbee at the Groen Preserve
October 19th (Thurs) 12pm-4pm
The Otsego Conservation District manages the Louis M. Groen Preserve, and last year conducted an invasive species inventory of the area. Join us there on the 19th to tackle those mapped invasives. We will mainly deal with Autumn Olive and Honeysuckle. To learn more about Michigan's efforts to eradicate those invasives visit https://www.misin.msu.edu/. For information on the workbee and to sign up, call 989-732-4021, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Oregano Removal at the Demo Gardens
Oregano is a wonderful herb with gorgeous purple flowers, but it also spreads rapidly to take over entire garden beds and it difficult to remove once established. The Demonstration Gardens have this plant in various locations and we are trying to remove it before it outcompetes our native plant species. This is an ongoing project, so contact us if you're interested in working with us for an hour, a day, or more. Email email@example.com, or call 989-732-4021.
Construction work on the Education Center
This is an ongoing project that will continue through the winter. We are painting walls, tiling bathrooms, and working on flooring. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to work hard and learn!
